Is it necessary to have more than one years of experience before doing masters in a foreign country?
A 100% YES. You definitely should work in a relevant field for at least one year before going for masters abroad.
There are many reasons why working would be beneficial. Here are some:
- First and the foremost reason is your part time job while pursuing masters. Any country you choose for masters, for example Germany or USA , allows you to work part time to manage your expenses. A student can work in the university or off campus as per the rules and regulations of the country and university. You can work in restaurants, stores, libraries and also in good IT firms . But if you want to be a part of good IT firm from the beginning then you must know how it is to work in one. If you are from CS field then you can get a lot of internships and related part time jobs as you have experience and also a good candidate for the company as you are on least wages.
2. Permanent job opportunities : If you want to have some good job offers in your hand after masters then having working experience in the past is really helpful. You get a outstanding chance in competition to other students.
3. Understand your course work easily : If you have worked in a relevant field of your course work then it will be easier for you to cope up with the syllabus as you will be knowing the practical approach of it and thus could excel the theoretical part of it.
So , try to work in a firm of your relevant field of study for at least a year or get a good internship for at least 6 months which is no less than a job .
